I am a positive person who thinks whatever you can imagine you can achieve.  I am an avid reader.  I like reading romance and nonfiction.  I have been writing poetry and making up stories since I was in high school.  I had a few English teachers who thought I had a good imagination and a unique writing style, even though my grammar has always been an obstacle.  Being a southern woman has always been a blessing.  I have lived in East Tennessee my entire life.  I live in Maryville with my family and two pets, a Yorkie and a blue point Ragdoll.  The south is full of beauty and a great place to create stories and interesting characters.

I have two children and four grandkids.  I guess if someone asked me 'who is your hero', I would have to say my grandson, Chevy.  He is six years old and has such a presence.  For his young age, he is so tenacious and keeps at anything he does until he is finished.  This year I have made many promises to myself, and the one I want to keep is to finish an entire manuscript until I can write 'the end.'  My dream come true would be to be walking down an isle at my local bookstore and see MY name on a book jacket.  I realize all the sacrifices one has to do to maintain that goal, and again, I will look to my young grandson as my pure inspiration.  Danielle Steel has proven you can overcome all adversity to achieve that ultimate goal we all as writers work to achieve.

I am currently working on a romantic suspense novel that is set in a fictional East Tennessee town.  Lies, Deceit, Murder, is the working title.  The characters are compelling and growing daily.

I enjoy all aspects of the writing life.

I have written several poems and published a monthly column in the newsletter of the East Tennessee Romance Writers, where I served as president for two years.

Works In Progress - Lies, Deceit, and Murder

A suicide of a young successful business man and loving husband and father rocks the people of the small fictional town of Shey Point, Tennessee.

When a daughter starts to dream about her father and his apparent murder she goes to the local authorities and meets up with an unruly rookie detective. The case has been closed for ten years. It becomes clear to the Stewart family that the one man they all trusted with their lives was living a double life. Lies, deceit, and murder become obvious. Alexis, the eldest daughter of the Stewart family, become obsessed to finding the truth regarding her father's death. She will engage the help of Blake Montgomery, a high spirited law enforcement officer, to open the case. His unwillingness to get involved with the likes of the Lockharts is more than a little resistant. Todd Lockhart owns most of Shey Point, a small but growing town, due mainly to the influences of industry brought about by his powerful friends and acquaintances.

Shey Point is a community built by the sweat and hard work of the residents. Settled in the beautiful foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains and filled with mystery and intrigue, the local people look up to the Lockhart family for their livelihood.
