I am a positive person who thinks whatever you can imagine you can achieve. I am an avid reader. I like reading romance and nonfiction. I have been writing poetry and making up stories since I was in high school. I had a few English teachers who thought I had a good imagination and a unique writing style, even though my grammar has always been an obstacle. Being a southern woman has always been a blessing. I have lived in East Tennessee my entire life. I live in Maryville with my family and two pets, a Yorkie and a blue point Ragdoll. The south is full of beauty and a great place to create stories and interesting characters.
I have two children and four grandkids. I guess if someone asked me 'who is your hero', I would have to say my grandson, Chevy. He is six years old and has such a presence. For his young age, he is so tenacious and keeps at anything he does until he is finished. This year I have made many promises to myself, and the one I want to keep is to finish an entire manuscript until I can write 'the end.' My dream come true would be to be walking down an isle at my local bookstore and see MY name on a book jacket. I realize all the sacrifices one has to do to maintain that goal, and again, I will look to my young grandson as my pure inspiration. Danielle Steel has proven you can overcome all adversity to achieve that ultimate goal we all as writers work to achieve.
I am currently working on a romantic suspense novel that is set in a fictional East Tennessee town. Lies, Deceit, Murder, is the working title. The characters are compelling and growing daily.
I enjoy all aspects of the writing life.
I have written several poems and published a monthly column in the newsletter of the East Tennessee Romance Writers, where I served as president for two years.
